Tongue Rose

An object tracking and compositing study for Valentine's Day (2024)!
I wanted to do something that wasn't related to romantic dinners this time, and ended up settling with flowers. The idea of replacing the petals with tongues just came into mind one day, when I realized that the shape and colors were similar.

The video format is vertical as it was meant to be a social media post and to give off the vibe that it was just shot from a phone. The goal was to have it be as "raw" and realistic as possible. SFX were also done by me.

Object tracking, modeling, rigging, and animation were done in Blender 3.4.

Compositing was done in Adobe After Affects in which I rotoscoped the original flower, replaced the rose with the tongues, added in the shadow, and did some color correction.
